The 2010 PPMA Conference was held in London for the first time ever this year and this month’s show was recorded at the event. The conference theme is ‘The Global Skills Race’ which, despite forecasters predictions of major downsizing in the public sector, will remain a major issue as we emerge from recession.

We hear from some of the key speakers including Dr Dennis Kimbro from Clark Atlanta University, Professor Katie Truss from Centre for Research in Employment, Skills and Society at Kingston University, Beverly Alimo-Metcalfe from Real World Group and Richard Gerver, former lead advisor to Tony Blair’s government.
To set the scene I talk to Dean Shoesmith, incoming PPMA President who explains why he chose this theme and outlines his objectives for the coming year.
